The Williamson County Parks & Recreation Department are always working to bring health and fitness to the forefront of your mind by providing an amazing line-up of classes at the Franklin Recreation Complex on Hillsboro Road. Children 6 and older can enjoy martial arts with instructor Eric Melton every Wednesday from 4:30 – 5:15 p.m. Plyomaniacs is the class for those wanting to get faster, jump higher or move quicker. Plyometrics uses explosive jumping exercises for maximum results. This is offered Wednesday and Saturdays.
Did you know you can get Tailored TCAP Tutoring from instructor Pamela Ritenour? Offered are a study skills coach and tutor for one hour in a 1:2 teacher/student ratio. For grades 3-8. Register for a time slot on Mondays or Thursdays, April 1-25 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Guitar lessons are still offered by John D’Amato and Piano and Voice lesions are also available.
Brain Builders with Legos is for students 6-10 years of age to build, design and create using Lego Education materials. Students build structures and simple machines while learning teamwork, problem solving skills and having fun. Brain Builders meets Tuesdays, April 9-30 from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Young Scientists age 5-8 and 9-12 can get outside and explore insects and plants.
