At the City Commission meeting on July 14, the City of Brentwood officially welcomed two new police officers: Julia Davis and Griffin Emrick.

Julia Davis is a Gilroy, California native. “Julia attended the University of Pennsylvania in Indiana, Pennsylvania,” Colvin said at the meeting. “That’s not a typo. She has a bachelor’s and a master’s in criminology. While she was in college, she was also an athlete; she played field hockey.”

She graduated in June from the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy and is currently in the Department’s Field Training Program.

Davis graduated from the academy with Griffin Emrick, who also took the oath of office that Monday. Originally from Murfreesboro, Emrick attended Middle Tennessee State University and served for six years in the U.S. Army.
“He served as a line medic in Germany for three years and as an instructor in South Carolina for two and a half years,” Colvin said. “He obtained the Expert Field Medical Badge and the Air Assault Badge during his time as a combat medic in the U.S. Army.”
Emrick is also in the Department’s Field Training Program.
