Chick-fil-A Reports Possible Data Breach

In a recent news release, Chick-fil-A reports that “unusual activity involving payment cards” may have occurred at some of their restaurants.

“We take our obligation to protect customer information seriously, and we are working with leading IT security firms, law enforcement and our payment industry contacts to determine all of the facts,” the statement says.

Chick-fil-A says that if fraudulent charges occurred, customers will not be liable. These charges will be the responsibility of Chick-fil-A or the bank that issued the card. Chick-fil-A will also provide free identity protection services, including credit monitoring.

As this situation is currently under investigation, the restaurant has not released which restaurants may have been affected.
