Centennial’s hopes for a good year are based on the big-play ability of its offense.

That’s precisely how the Cougars topped Ravenwood, 26-23, on Friday.

Cougar do-it-all star Jariel Wilson also accounted for a pair of touchdowns, as the Cougars picked up a big road win.

Centennial’s Tre Carlton had a 57-yard touchdown scamper late in the third quarter.

Cougar quarterback Tre Stewart hit receiver Tavion Fleming with a 57-yard scoring strike with 5:19 left in the game, which provided the wining points.

Ravenwood blocked a punt late to set up a score, but the Cougars held on.

Wilson recovered a bad snap to punter Sam French for a second-quarter score with 4:43 left before half.

Little more than two minutes before that, Wilson scored the Cougars’ first points of the season on a one-yard run.

Centennial stays at home to face Siegel next week.
