Centennial quarterback Tre Stewart hit Ryan Newby with a 4-yard touchdown pass with four seconds left, as the Cougars upended Franklin, 24-21, on Friday.

Stewart threw for 113 yards and Centennial’s Jariel Wilson added 95 yards rushing and a score.

Matt Gaca led Franklin with 107 yards rushing and two scores on 19 carries, and added four solo tackles and an interception.

Franklin’s Carter Hendry had just scored on a 1-yard run with 49 seconds left to put the Rebels ahead. Earlier in the fourth quarter, Gaca had a 1-yard touchdown run to bring Franklin within three.

Centennial led 17-7 at half, with Wilson’s 13-yard touchdown run and Newby’s interception return for a score counting for the Cougar touchdowns.

Franklin hosts Oakland next week, while Centennial hosts Hillsboro.
