Led by star running back Jariel Wilson, Centennial beat Riverdale by a 37-34 score, giving coach Matt Kriesky a win over his brother, Will Kriesky, on Friday night in Murfreesboro.

Centennial’s Johnny Crouch hit a 24-yard field goal on the last play of the game, leading the Cougars to victory. Crouch also hit a field goal in the closing seconds of the first half.

But as has been the case most of the year, Wilson carried the Cougars. The Austin Peay commit rushed for touchdowns of 54, 57 and 68 yards.

The Cougars, who beat Dickson County last week, have strung together consecutive wins for the first time this season.

Centennial led most of the night, but Riverdale tied it midway through the fourth quarter thanks to Drew Smith’s 3-yard touchdown run.

Wilson had a 57-yard touchdown to put the Cougars up 17-14 with 5:38 before half.

Centennial (3-3) travels to 3-3 Franklin next week.
