Celebrate Valentine’s Day for $1

Valentine’s Day is just as much about the kids as it is about the adults.  Most parents, will delay going out for Valentine’s day due to the expense of most restaurants offering a set menu and the high cost of babysitting.  Instead they will celebrate with their kids at home with a special meal and decorations.

We visited one of our favorite spots for holiday decorating, Dollar Tree, located in Cool Springs for a way to add some hearts and love  for only a $1.

As  you walk into the store, there is a display of paper doilys.  This makes   a very inexpensive heart garland.  You can even get your kids to help with  this very easy project.

Embellished Mason Jars will decorate your table using the same doily hearts and some paper ones as well.

A favorite of preschool project but older kids can do this as well, thumbprint hearts.  Use an 8×11 paper with a red ink pad to make these adorable hearts.  Yes, you can buy a picture frame at the Dollar Tree for $1.
