On September 25th, eight community members took the oath as advocates for abused and neglected children. Each went through 30 hours of training and 3 hours of court observation before standing in front of the Honorable Sharon Guffee.
Magistrate Guffee told the volunteers, “I want to thank you all for making this commitment to serve the children of our community. Today is the beginning of a journey that will change your life forever, and will change the lives of our community’s abused and neglected children. The children you serve may never know how much time and energy you commit to them but we are very aware of your impact at Juvenile court.” CASA serves those children in crisis when their own family does not provide love, sustainability and protection for them.
Williamson County CASA stands up for children’s right to be safe, loved, to have friends and live in a home with a real family where they can thrive. The next training class for volunteers is in February of 2013. Call (615) 591-2699 for more information, to volunteer or make a donation.
