Car Crashes Into Dining Room of Franklin Restaurant

Car Crashes Into Gina's Stonefired Italian

At Gina’s Stonefired Italian and Pizzeria it was a routine Wednesday morning one moment, with employees getting ready for the lunchtime rush. Then a car crashed through the front of the building.

At about 11:25 a.m., a white Buick sedan burst through the windows that make up the front of the restaurant, located at 3046 Columbia Avenue by Kroger and Target. No one was injured, and the crash caused no major damage to the building, Franklin Fire Marshall Andy King said.

An elderly man, out to shop with his wife, was the driver of the car, according to Joe Stellino, who owns the restaurant with his wife, and the restaurant’s namesake, Gina.

“He was parking and hit the gas instead of the brake,” Stellino said. “Luckily no one was hurt, and it didn’t happen during a busy time.”
