UPDATE 6/28: The Franklin Police Department placed 1st in six of the seven events held at Fieldstone Park. Officer Brett Spivy and his partner Axel won first place in Agility, Criminal Apprehension, Evidence Search, Obedience, Total Search and Overall categories and took 2nd place in Suspect Search. They also won the Jimmy D. Anderson Memorial Award for the highest combined scores in Obedience and Criminal Apprehension. Currently Franklin has four K-9 teams on the streets.
Congratulations also to Deputy Mike Grandy with Lexer and Corporal Debbie Rogers with Gunner of the Williamson County Sheriff’s department on their awards in apprehension, article search, suspect search, total search and agility in the USPCA Region 13 K-9 trials.

The Franklin Police Department and Williamson County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting the United States Police Canine Association, Region-13, Police Dog Field Trials in Franklin starting tomorrow.
Area residents and supporters are cordially invited to watch as police K9 teams from across Middle Tennessee test and certify in categories including obedience, agility, scent work, and criminal apprehension.
Trials will be held on June 25 & 26, at Fieldstone Park off of Hillsboro Road, from 7:30 am until the early afternoon hours. One of this year’s participants includes Franklin Police Officer Brett Spivy and his partner, Axel, who were last year’s Regional Champions.
