Gish Named Hillsboro School Principal

Former Hillsboro School teacher Cameron Gish will be returning to lead the school where he began his career in education.

Interim Superintendent Jason Golden introduced Gish to the Hillsboro faculty as their new principal today. He replaces Alicia Justice who was recently selected to open the new middle school being built adjacent to the Oak View Elementary property.

“Cameron is a dynamic educational leader who is known for setting high standards and exceeding expectations,” said Golden. “His familiarity with Hillsboro is a plus, so I expect him to not miss a beat as he begins this new leadership role.”

Gish taught at Hillsboro for four years beginning in 2011. For the past three years, he has served as the assistant principal of Mill Creek Middle School.

“Hillsboro School is a unique K-8 campus and I am so excited to lead and support the rigorous academic, artistic, and athletic opportunities that exist for students across nine different grade levels,” said Gish. “As a former Hillsboro teacher, I know first-hand the magic that is created in Leiper’s Fork each and every day. I look forward to meeting the students, staff members and families as we prepare for another exciting school year. Serving on the inaugural staff of Mill Creek Middle School has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I am grateful to our talented students, phenomenal staff members, engaged parents, and the broader Nolensville community for an amazing three years. Your support and encouragement have truly meant the world to me.”

Gish earned a Bachelor’s in Music Education from Murray State University and a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Lipscomb University.

He will begin his new role July 1, 2019.
