This week, we have talked a lot about our local bus drivers and how much we need them to help  our kids get their day started off the right way.

One local mom, Anne McGraw, has started a fund raiser on a website called Ink to the People to raise awareness for our Williamson County Schools bus drivers.

“WCS is facing a critical shortage of bus drivers and we want to make sure they know how important they are to all of us….no matter how your kids get to school,” says the story for the Love Our Bus Drivers fund raiser.

True to the colors of a school bus, the t-shirt design features a yellow shirt with blue and red letters stating, “I heart symbol Williamson County Schools Bus Drivers.”

Each t-shirt cost $16.00 and the money raised will go toward the COW funds for WCS.

What is a COW you may ask? COW stands for Computers On Wheels. A fully equipped COW includes 30 laptops and charging cables on a mobile cart which can easily be moved from one classroom to another.

One fully “fed” COW provides, at its optimum use, over 200 students per day and over 1,000 students per week with the learning tools; provides hundreds of WCS faculty with essential tools for teaching; and provides our students in third through eighth grade with critical practice time to prepare for required state testing.
