Buttermilk Sky Pie has officially opened their new Franklin location at 5050 Carothers Parkway next to Juice Bar and Chicken Salad Chick. Buttermilk Sky Pie opened a location on Cool Springs Blvd in early 2016 but that location closed in 2018.

Owners of the new Franklin shop are Ken and Chris Smith who also opened a Murfreesboro location at 2314 Medical Center Parkway in September 2018.
Buttermilk Sky Pie was founded by Scott and Meredith Layton who took memories and entrepreneurial dreams in the form of a pie shop. They currently own and operate the original Buttermilk Sky Pie Shop in Knoxville, Tennessee, baking the time-honored family recipes of grandmothers Ruth and Edith. According to the website, there are 18 pie shops currently operating or to open in 2019.
In addition to full-size pies, you can also get mini pies, which are enough to feed two people. You’ll also find gift items, greeting cards, and platters.

This is a must try! Just happened by this little gem on my way from Chicken Salad Chick to Starbucks on Friday. I ended up spending 30 minutes there talking to one of the owners. She was so gracious and fun to chat with…beautiful family story she was more than happy to share. The pies are DELICIOUS and the thumbprint cookies were a heavenly surprise.
