Brown Bag will be holding its Grand Opening of its newest location in Franklin/Cool Springs on Monday, January 11th, at 11am, located at 420 Cool Springs Blvd.

Brown Bag’s food comes with purpose. “Our desire is to serve customers, and partner in the community in a way that reflects the love of Jesus Christ. Our work is to express His love to those we encounter through our actions, attitudes and service,” the company said.
Brown Bag began six years ago as a simple catering business founded by its owner Peter Brown. A manager at Qdoba, Brown noticed a gap in the catering market – No one was serving simple, healthy meals at a reasonable price. If you wanted an affordable catered meal, you were left with a sandwich and a bag of chips. Peter started in his home kitchen, eventually moved to his detached garage, and in 2011, opened up a catering shop at a strip center in Knoxville, TN. After several months, Peter decided to take advantage of the space and opened up the restaurant, which would dish out catering orders throughout the day and serve food to customers who came in daily for lunch. The business grew organically; grounded in great relationships with medical sales reps bringing lunch to their clients, managers ordering catered meals for their office, and moms picking up bulk orders to bring home to their family. Former professional golfer Matt Mincer joined Peter as co-owner in 2013, and helped Brown Bag grow even more in the Knoxville community. So much so, the two decided to open up a second location in downtown Knoxville, which came to fruition in July of 2014. In 2015, Brown Bag was voted by CityView magazine as the top caterer in the city. The success continued, giving the two hope and aspirations of taking Brown Bag to another thriving market… Nashville, Tennessee.
Peter and Matt recognized the success of having each other for accountability and support while running the business and wanted this to be the model of each store they opened. Thus asking, Jonathan Morris and Bradley Ternes, whom were college best friends and combined four years of experience with Brown Bag, to take on the next step of the company as owner/operators of Brown Bag Nashville. “Through hours of passionate labor, dedicated effort and service to our customers, I witnessed and experienced the growth of Brown Bag,” says Jonathan, “Coming to Nashville we are truly excited about offering this community simple, healthy, stress free catering.”
