Brentwood Wins Second Straight at Northeast

For the second week in a row the Bruins got a district win, beating Northeast 23-3.

Quarterback Carson Croy led Brentwood to five scoring drives while the Bruin defense stopped Northeast from getting anything going.

Croy and Three Field Goals Put Brentwood on Top

Brentwood (3-3, 3-0) is undefeated in Region 7-5A, and games like this one are why. The Bruins held Northeast (2-4, 0-3) to just 100 total yards on offense, and did not allow a single completed pass.

The game started slowly, with rain falling off and on causing bad field conditions. The teams traded fields goals in the first quarter. Tucker Day hit for Brentwood from 25 yards out.

In the second quarter, Croy led a drive that he capped with a 1-yard touchdown run. Later in the quarter Day kicked in his second field goal of the game, this one from 20 yards away.

After the half Croy capped another drive, scoring with a 14-yard run. Croy, who finished 8 for 15 for 75 yards passing, added 54 yards and two touchdowns on 23 runs.

Day, in the fourth, hit his third field goal of the game, this one from 20 yards.

Collin Rudolph also had a big night for the Bruins, rushing for 131 yards on 31 carries.

The Brentwood defense allowed just 100 yards on 37 carries, less than 3 yards per carry. The Bruins passing defense dominated, an interception being the only completed pass on the night from Northeast.

Next week Brentwood has a chance to win its third straight and fourth district game of the year, visiting 0-6 West Creek.
