Brentwood’s Jordan Nicholas had a pair of touchdowns and 172 yards of total offense, but Cane Ridge came to Brentwood and spoiled the Bruins’ night with a 27-24 win on Friday.

Starling’s only touchdown came on a 4-yard run with 7:01 to play in the third quarter. That gave the Ravens a 27-14 lead that proved to be good enough.
Brentwood quarterback Cade Granzow was solid again, completing 15 of 22 passes for 241 yards and a score. But he had one interception, which Cane Ridge’s Odannie Hall returned for a score, putting the Ravens up 21-7 just 1:50 into the second half.
Nicholas countered with a 4-yard scoring run 38 seconds later, and pulled the Bruins (1-1) to within six with a 45-yard receiving score with 5:32 left in the third. Brentwood’s 28-yard Tabor Miller field goal with 7:07 left amounted to the night’s final points.
Bishop had a 7-yard rushing touchdown just 3:54 into the evening for the game’s first points.
Cane Ridge out-gained Brentwood, 407-358, and ran 45 times for 320 yards. The Ravens won the turnover battle, 2-0.
