Brentwood Student Earns Perfect ACT Score

Alexander Qin, Perfect ACT

from WCS InFocus

Alexander Qin would like to attend either Stanford or the University of Pennsylvania when he graduates from Brentwood High School next spring.

His chances of getting into both got a lot better recently after he found out he had earned a perfect score on his ACT.

Qin, who took the ACT twice in middle school and twice in high school before getting a perfect score, had never scored higher than a 34 and was very excited to learn he had earned a 36, which had been his goal all along.

“That was definitely a goal because it’s a huge help applying to colleges,” Qin said. “Obviously it’s not easy to get, so I was really happy that I got a 36.”

While he knew he had a chance at the perfect score, he was uncertain just how well he did.

“I thought I did pretty well, but I wasn’t exactly sure because you can never really know,” he said. “I think it should be a huge help, especially for Stanford where just about everyone applying has a 35 or 36.”
