UPDATE: Brentwood Police Make Arrest in Overnight Incident Where Officer Injured

Original Story

On Wednesday, February 6th at approximately 11:55 pm Brentwood Police Officers were called to the area of Fountainhead Drive after a resident reported seeing a suspicious vehicle and suspects. While officers were conducting a search of the area they encountered a black Honda CRV which immediately fled at a high rate of speed. Additional officers set up tire deflation devices in an attempt to stop the fleeing vehicle at the intersection of Fountainhead Drive and Franklin Road. The driver of the CRV attempted to avoid striking the devices and in doing so struck a Brentwood Police vehicle which was parked and unoccupied. The BPD vehicle, in turn, struck a Brentwood Officer who was on foot nearby.

Brentwood Officer Brien Fletcher was injured when he was struck by the vehicle. He was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he is currently being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect vehicle fled the scene and has not been located. It is described as a 2017 Honda CRV with a Tennessee license plate number FW8348. The vehicle was later determined to be stolen from Nolensville. It was occupied by at least two (2) unknown male black suspects.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact the Brentwood Police Department at (615)371-0160, [email protected] or Williamson County Crime Stoppers at (615)794-4000.
