Brentwood Police Make Arrest in Overnight Incident Where Officer Injured

Brentwood Police have made an arrest in the Wednesday, February 6th incident where a BPD officer was injured. Detectives arrested William Moquann Smith, 18, at his home in Nashville.

Brentwood Officer Brien Fletcher was injured when he was struck by his patrol car after it was rammed by a stolen vehicle that was attempting to evade officers and avoid tire deflation devices at Fountainhead Drive and Franklin Road. Officer Fletcher remains at Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he underwent surgery this afternoon and is expected to make a full recovery.

Smith has been charged with Aggravated Assault, Evading Arrest by Motor Vehicle, Reckless Endangerment and Theft of Property over $10,000. He is currently being held on a $70,000 Bond at the Williamson County Jail.
