The Brentwood Police Department is investigating a reported shooting on Old Smyrna Road last night.
Around midnight, police responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting incident at 9316 Old Smyrna Road. Officers discovered a 42-year-old male victim in the residence who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim, who is not being identified yet pending notification of next of kin, was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
Detectives are continuing to conduct an investigation at the residence and in the street in front of the residence. Old Smyrna Road is currently closed in both directions, but is expected to reopen later this morning.
At this time police do not have any suspect or vehicle information. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call the Brentwood Police at 371-0160.
