Is Your Child Ready for Kindergarten?

While summer may be the time to relax and enjoy time off from school, it can also be a valuable time for parents preparing their little ones to transition into Kindergarten readiness.

Carrie Ball, former elementary school teacher, now a busy stay at home mother to three sons wanted more than anything for her sons to feel confident and prepared as they approached the first day of school. Ball used her professional knowledge to create goals and checkpoints to measure their readiness.

Seeing her sons benefit from the format, an idea was formed to take these simple fundamentals and create a toolkit other parents could use. The Kindergarten Toolkit was launched on Etsy and reviews have all been positive.

The curriculum in the kit includes step-by-step instructions. The Kindergarten Toolkit builds confidence in the child with quality, one-on-one learning time and utilizes the core academic principals needs for Kindergarten success.

“Like most parents, I always feel busy, so much on my plate on a daily basis. However, I made it a priority to carve out one on one special learning time with each boy to focus on the 10 goals of the Kindergarten Toolkit,” explained Ball.

Sight words, shapes and math skills included in the kit are all easily laid out for parents to use. Making sure your child has a solid foundation, ensures confidence as the child embarks on that crucial first year of school.

Kindergarten ToolkitThe Kindergarten Toolkit lesson book includes three to four mini lessons for each of the 10 goals. Included in each kit: Lesson booklet with assessment and supplement pages, four sets of flashcards: upper and lower case letters; numbers 1-20; 25 Kindergarten sight words; 10 colors and shapes; whiteboard with pen. The great thing about including a whiteboard is you can use the kit with multiple children.

While the kit is reasonably priced, let’s face it that there is no price too high to have a child ready for school. Taking a small amount of time this summer could ensure a happy child, and happy parent, come August.

If you would like to meet Ball in person and see The Kindergarten Toolkit, stop by Granny White Park on Wednesday, June 10th from 9-11 a.m. Local mom blogger, “The Nashville Mom” is holding a “Morning at the Park” for families. For additional information about this event, click here.
