Brentwood Library Hosts Blood Drive in Honor of Librarian

Blood Drive in Honor of Heather Lanier

The John P. Holt Brentwood Library world changed on June 4th when their dear friend and co-worker, Heather Lanier, passed away. Heather was the Circulation Supervisor, so many patrons saw her smiling face at the front desk on a regular basis. Heather was known for her kindness and passion for helping others.

On Wednesday, August 1st from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. the Library will hold an American Red Cross blood drive in honor of Heather. The Red Cross is currently at severe emergency levels and is asking as many people as possible to sign up to give blood. According to the Red Cross, blood is going out far faster than it is coming in – and this can have an immediate impact on patient care if not immediately addressed.

To schedule an appointment, those interested can visit redcrossblood.org and enter sponsor code CityofBrentwood, or call Brigid Day at (615) 371-0090 ext. 8510. Walk-ins are also welcome, but may experience a longer wait time.

Donors will receive a $5 Amazon gift card via email with a valid email address.

Heather looked at every situation as an opportunity, and her library family would love for those able to help the Red Cross during this time of need.
