Brentwood HS Holds Mock Crash on Wed

The Brentwood High DECA Chapter has partnered with Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt in conducting a yearlong campaign called “BE IN THE ZONE- TURN OFF YOUR PHONE”! The program is supported by The Allstate Foundation and Ford Motor Company Fund and Community Services. Ashley Anderson and Katherine Mills are the project leaders. The Chapter is competing against ten other schools in the mid-state area for the best campaign and Best Public Service Announcement (PSA).

Wednesday, April 22, at  2:40 pm at  BHS Football Field: Mock Crash. April is National Distracted Driving Awareness month and we have been conducting a year-long campaign for anti-texting while driving entitled: Be in the Zone, Turn Off Your Phone. We will have Life Flight flying in, ambulances, fire truck and police involved. Not only would we like the community to join us observing the event, we definitely would like the community to be aware of what is going on to prevent a rash of phone calls to the CO and BHS.  Brentwood High School is located at 5304 Murray Lane, Brentwood.  Spectators are asked to sit on the Home side of  the field.

Thursday, April 23, 4:00-8:00 pm at Chick-Fil-A: Community event, Driving Simulators and Promotion of National Distracted Driving Awareness Month. We will have 2 simulators where people can try their hand at texting while driving to show them the dangers of the distracted driving. Chick-Fil-A will donate 15% of sales made in support of Brentwood High DECA. BHS supports just simply need to tell the order taker that they are supporting BHS when ordering their food.
