From WCS InFocus

Brentwood High art teacher Heather McHugh is this year’s Tennessee Art Educator Association’s (TAEA) Secondary Art Educator of the Year.

McHugh was given a plaque to celebrate her achievement at the TAEA Fall Conference Awards Ceremony October 24. The award is meant to recognize exemplary art educators and honor those who have achieved the highest level of professionalism in art education.

“I’m incredibly humbled,” McHugh said. “Every single one of my colleagues is an incredible educator, and every single one deserves recognition for their investment and commitment to art as a necessity for our students. I feel so fortunate to align myself with colleagues who are brilliant educators and humans.”
