“A Golden Gallop” Parade will be held Saturday, April 13th at 2pm in Maryland Farms in Brentwood. All residents, civic groups and businesses are encouraged to participate according to the theme, Show Us What Makes Brentwood Golden. The City of Brentwood was incorporated in 1969 and is celebrating throughout 2019 with three big events. The parade is the first event and will feature local music, the Brentwood and Ravenwood High School marching bands, cheerleaders, equine groups, Scout groups and others.
Parade participants must register by April 1 and there is no fee to participate. Application information and parade rules can be found online at www.brentwoodtn50.com.
The parade will begin at the Tractor Supply Company headquarters located at 5401 Virginia Way, Brentwood. Tractor Supply is the presenting sponsor of The City of Brentwood’s 50th celebration events. The parade and other events are made possible thanks to donations from community sponsors.
The parade route is 1.5 miles and will head east on Virginia Way, then north on Ward Circle, west on Maryland Way, south on Powell Place, and east on Virginia Way. Family-friendly areas and specific school meet-up locations will be coordinated along the parade route. The Sponsor VIP section will be located at 5211 Maryland Way, in front of Brentwood City Hall.
The Brentwood 50th Steering Committee is spearheading the planning for the city parade. Parade Director Lynn Stallcup, who has previously coordinated Ravenwood High School parades, says, “This will be an excellent community event to celebrate Brentwood! We hope everyone from individuals to businesses, to civic groups form a float and enter!” The parade will be a family-oriented, community event. Mayor Jill Burgin says that, rain or shine, it will be a great day to call Brentwood home. “This community parade will be a fun way to for all of Brentwood to celebrate our 50 years as a city.”
