The Brentwood Family YMCA is hosting their 5th annual Harvest Half Marathon/5k Run and Family Fall Festival, Saturday, November 4th, which is presented and sponsored by Nissan.
The race will begin at 8am with free childcare for YMCA members starting at 7:30 am. The runs will begin at the Soccer fields of the Brentwood Family YMCA and continue through the Brentwood area trails to finish back at the soccer fields.
After the marathon and 5k, kids can join the running too with the Kid’s Fun Run, starting at 10 am.
The Fun Run kicks off the annual Family Fall Festival featuring food, hayrides, children’s activities, and music on the youth sports fields for more than 2,000 participants in the area.
Proceeds from all of the YMCA Race Series events go towards the YMCA of Middle Tennessee Annual Giving Campaign which provides for youth development, healthy living, social responsibility by nurturing children and teens, improving community health and well-being, and supporting those in need within the neighborhood. Those that participate and give in this race are helping to provide necessary impact in the community by opening up opportunities for everyone regardless of their age, income, or background.
Due to the narrowness of the trails, there is a cap at 400 runners for both the Harvest Half and the 5k races. Awards will be given to top three male and female runners in each category and to those in each age group. Half Marathon is $65, 5k is $35, and the Kid’s Run is $10 for each participant. For more information or to Register for the race, visit the race website or their Facebook event page. Registration is open now through Thursday, November 2nd.
