Brentwood hung on through heavy rain to get a hard-earned 27-19 win at Nolensville on Friday night.

Bruins’ quarterback Cade Granzow threw a pair of long first-half touchdown passes to give Brentwood a lead it wouldn’t relinquish. He finished the night 15 of 20 for 314 yards.

Jordan Nicholas added 11 carries for 71 yards, and caught two balls for 61. Carter McKechnie caught four passes for 114 yards for the Bruins (5-1).

Brentwood extended its lead to 20-6 early in the second half on Tabor Miller’s field goal.

The Knights cut the advantage to 27-12 after Ryder Galardi’s 50-yard scoring strike to tight end Tim Stayskal.

Colton Dooley added a 10-yard touchdown run with 9:01 left for the Knights.

Nolensville’s Luke Jenkins hit a 26-yard, first-quarter field goal for the game’s first points.

Brentwood answered when Granzow hit McKechnie with a 65-yards touchdown pass, then, Jenkins hit another field goal–this one, from 22–to cut the lead to a point.

But Granzow found Nicholas for a 51-yard passing touchdown to extend the lead to eight.

A Miller field goal made Brentwood’s lead 17-6 at half.

Brentwood takes on Independence at home next Friday, while Nolensville (4-2) visits Tullahoma.
