Gavin Schoenwald threw for 122 yards and two scores, and ran for 45 more and two additional touchdowns, as Brentwood Academy stayed undefeated with a 50-14 thrashing of Knoxville Catholic in Knoxville.

Tomario Pleasant ran 17 times for 98 yards and two scores, and Camron Johnson added five catches for 92 yards and a touchdown.

Fifty-two seconds into the second half, Brentwood Academy struck quickly when a pair of Vanderbilt commitments, Schoenwald and Johnson, hooked up for a 45-yard, third-quarter TD pass to extend that lead

Toby Wilson’s 40-yard field goal extended that lead, as did Kenyon Garlington’s kickoff return touchdown later in the quarter.

A Jordan McCoy interception set up a Jack Victory scoring run later in the third period. The lead stood at 47-14 at the end of the quarter, and another Wilson file goal got the Eagles to 50.

BA’s Pleasant scored from two yards out as BA (5-0) took a first-quarter, 7-0 lead.

After Knoxville Catholic scored a touchdown, BA’s Wilson added a field goal as the Eagles re-took the lead.

Another Pleasant run, followed by the point-after, pushed the Brentwood Academy lead to 17-7 with 3:29 left in the half.

Schoenwald then threw a touchdown to Michael Archie for a 24-7 lead that held at half.

Luke Knox had a second-half interception for the Eagles.

Johnson had six tackles (one solo) and Jackson Sirmon had eight (one solo) for BA. Thomas Butler led the team with five solo tackles and three assists.

Brentwood Academy hosts Baylor next week.
