Brentwood Academy improved to 4-0 with a 21-14 victory over Texas’s Bishop Dunne Catholic in a game played in Shreveport, La., on Saturday afternoon.

The Eagles fumbled away the second-half kickoff, and Bishop Dunne got an early-third-quarter touchdown to cut the BA lead to 14-7.

Brentwood Academy struck back quickly, returning the ensuring kickoff to the Dunne 28. A few plays later, Gavin Schoenwald hit Daniel Taylor with a 10-yard scoring pass.

But Bishop Dunne responded with Marquez Beason touchdown catch to cut the margin back to seven.

The Eagle defense came up big on several occasions. BA’s Tahir Annoor picked off a pass in the Eagle end zone in the second half to thwart a Bishop Dunne drive in the second half, and Brentwood Academy also blocked a first-half field goal.

The BA defense forced a late-fourth-quarter stop and ran out the clock from there.

The Eagles took a 7-0 lead with 4:59 left in the first quarter on Tomarrio Pleasant’s 5-yard run.

Later in the quarter, Pleasant added a 46-yard score as the Eagles led 14-0 after a quarter.

Brentwood Academy returns home to face Florida’s International School of Broward.
