BrentFest, a free event celebrating Brentwood’s 50th birthday, takes place Saturday, June 15 3pm – 10pm.

The free outdoor festival will feature live music, a kid zone, a variety of sweet and savory food trucks, and a beer garden. The event will go on rain or shine.

· Tim Akers and the Smoking Section: 7-10pm

Tim Akers and the Smoking Section is the headliner act taking the stage at 7pm with a song list that will keep you dancing. The songwriter, arranger and Nashville based producer has worked with Kid Rock, Faith Hill, and Keith Urban just to name a few. The group of A-list musicians can regularly be seen at 3rd and Lindsley in Nashville. Brentwood native and 2019 Brentwood Academy graduate, Conner Smith, will be getting the day’s lineup started at 3pm. The 18-year-old has previously opened for country acts like Sam Hunt, Kane Brown & Kip Moore.  Smith is excited to kick off his summer tour at home in Brentwood.

The 80s tribute band, Guilty Pleasures, will take the stage from 4-6pm.  Their song list includes everything from Margaritaville, to Jack and Diane, to Ring of Fire. Cruizin Keys, a rock and roll piano pair, will stir up the crowd from 6-7pm.

The Brentwood 50th Steering Committee is spearheading the planning for BrentFest in partnership with Rhizome Productions. Rhizome Productions of Nashville produces craft beer and food events such as the East Nashville Beer Festival and others all over the country. Rhizome is responsible for the management of the beer garden at BrentFest. Brentwood Police Officers will be on the lookout for underage consumption. Alcohol will only be served to those 21 years of age and older with a valid I.D. and a festival issued wristband. From 6-8pm, more unique pours of beer, cider and seltzers will also be served. All beer will be served in 16-ounce cans for $8 each. Cash and credit cards will be accepted. Beer sales will end around 9:30p.m. Festival attendees will not be allowed to bring outside alcohol into the park. All festival attendees are encouraged to drink responsibly and never to drink and drive. Lyft will be offering discounted rides using the code BRENTFEST.

The large kid zone attractions sponsored by FirstBank will include a ball toss, a can smash game, football toss, basketball and four inflatables, including one specifically for toddlers. Face painting and balloon making will also be available. Children must be supervised in the kid zone. BrentFest is a dog friendly event, but dogs must be on a leash and remain toward the back of the amphitheater. Limited ADA accessible seating is available at the amphitheater. BrentFest will be a family-oriented, community event and will take place rain or shine. 50th merchandise, including commemorative T-shirts, books, and an illustrated map will be available for sale at BrentFest. The City of Brentwood’s 2019 Summer Concert Series will kick off Sunday June 9 at Crockett Park with Rubiks Groove taking the stage at 7pm. Sixwire will perform June 23, the Red, White and Boom Celebration on July 4th with the Kadillacs and the season ends on July 14 with the South Street Players.
