How to Break in Your Leather Boots

All leather boots are hard to find these days. At boutiqueMMM, they just launched Kork Ease boots.

A brand which began in Brooklyn in 1953, Kork Ease first got noticed in the 70s for their buffalo sandal, according to their website. The “Buffalo Sandal” was spotted standing in line at the famed Studio 54, launching an onset of look-a-likes. Today, the comfort shoe brand has expanded to include a line of leather boots.

Here are some tips we found from Kork Ease on how to break-in their all leather boots.

All leather shoes have a break in period; it’s simply the nature of the material. Leathers need some extra lovin’ to soften up. And once your Kork Ease shoes soften up, they fit like a glove. When it comes to breaking in your boots, they suggest one quick and easy solution: socks.

This is so easy: At home, slip into a thick pair of wool socks. If you don’t have wool, double up on socks. Then step into your new pair of boots or sandals and chill around the house for a few hours. Walk up the stairs, sit down to marathon Big Little Lies, try on some outfits. Do what you need to do. Just make sure the socks are thick enough so that the boots kind of feel uncomfortable. Every now and then, try them on without the thick socks and see how they feel.

The shoes won’t stretch out to the point of being ill-fitted; the leather will simply start to give where your foot requires it.

We strongly suggest doing the sock trick with boots before wearing them out for the day. Once the shoes break in, they are yours to love every single step of the way.
