Bluegrass, Folk and Pickin Party at Bowie Jubilee

The Bowie Jubilee is a chance for Fairview residents to not only hear live music but to make music with other members of the community.

The event will be held at Joanne’s Outdoor Classroom behind Bowie Nature Center on Saturday, June 14th from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. The jubilee will feature music from Bending Chestnut Bluegrass Band, a five-person traditional bluegrass and bluegrass gospel band.  Jim & Inge Wood, a folk duo will also be performing. Jim grew up just outside of Fairview and is the only five-time Tennessee State Fiddle Champion. Fans say Jim and Inge have an “undeniable chemistry” when on stage.

“You should definitely come out and hear and see what Bowie Jubilee is all about,”Jenny Herrera, Bowie Park program director said. “The Outdoor Classroom is a very special place and is perfect for hosting an outdoor concert with such talented musicians. You will not be disappointed!”

Attendees should bring their banjos, mandolins and fiddles for a pickin’ party after the concert that is scheduled to go until 5 p.m. Everyone is invited to stay for the pickin’ party whether or not they’ll be playing an instrument.

Bowie Nature Center is located at 7211 Bowie Lake Road in Fairview.
