BOFT Lecture Series Tonight!

Williamson-County-Plessy-v.-Ferguson-case

The Battle of Franklin Trust is hosting a lecture tonight in the Fleming Center at Historic Carnton Plantation. The focus of the evening will be the Emancipation Proclamation and how it, along with the 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments to the Constitution, forever changed American society.

Eric A. Jacobson, Chief Operating Officer and historian for the Trust, along with Thomas Flagel, historian and award winning author, will participate in the lecture. The discussion will evaluate the original Civil Rights Act and the Plessy v. Ferguson case that set the stage for the Civil Rights movement of the 50’s and 60’s.

Lecture starts promptly at 6 P.M. and is free to the public.
