franklin

Get ready for the return of the big bluegrass music and competition event in downtown Franklin in front of the Williamson County Courthouse.

This year, Bluegrass Along the Harpeth will start on Friday, July 24 at 7 p.m. with a special performance by Uncle Shuffalo & the Haint Hollow Hootanannies and award winning bluegrass band Breaking Grass.

The event is free to attend with food vendors available on site. Last year more than 7,000 people attended the outdoor event. In the event of rain, the stage will move to the 2nd Ave. parking garage. Bring a lawnchair to claim your spot and have a seat during the music.

Then, on Saturday, July 25 the competition begins at 10 a.m. with a variety of performances scheduled. The event goes throughout the day with prizes of up to $75 for single performers and $750 for bands. There are dance competitions as well as instruments.
