Bloggers to Share Fashion, Cost-Saving Strategies at Goodwill Style Event

Goodwill Style Event

A dozen popular bloggers and DIY fashion experts will share their strategies for finding and assembling eye-catching outfits at bargain prices during the next Style with a Purpose Meet-Up — a special evening at Goodwill’s Bellevue community store in Nashville.

The free event will be from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 19, at 7663 U.S. Highway 70 S. Everyone is welcome, from cost-conscious fashionistas to thrift-shopping newcomers.

Guests can enjoy interacting with the experts and get personalized advice to make shopping more fun and rewarding. They can also browse not only Goodwill’s shelves and garment racks but also merchandise especially selected by each blogger to reflect their unique style or shopping strategies. Refreshments will be served, and door prizes will be given away.

All purchases of merchandise from Goodwill’s stores benefit the nonprofit’s mission of changing lives through education, training and employment.

Participating bloggers and DIY fashion experts include:

  • Betsy Appleton (Goldwill Digger), who loves finding unique pieces for a fraction of retail price and incorporating them into today’s styles for a one-of-a-kind look.
  • Elisabeth Donaldson (365DaysOfThrift), who describes her style as vintage inspired, fun and eclectic.
  • Brittney Forrister, whose style for clothing and home combines the vintage and the modern with plenty of pattern play.
  • Jamie Germain and Ashanti Smoot (Sashe Fashion Blog), who believe style shouldn’t be limited to what appears in glossy magazines but should be inspired by what people are drawn to and how they feel.
  • Erin Hendrickson (MinimalistRD), whose style evolved from her love of the outdoors — earthy, neutral colors inspired by nature.
  • Kim Baldwin (The Blonde Mule), whose passion is emulating Bushwick street style on a Goodwill budget.
  • Porsche Pope (Polished Pope), who is inspired by bold color, sophisticated lines and eclectic styles and patterns.
  • Audrey Rhodes (Affectionately Audrey), who believes anyone can be stylish with a little confidence and guidance.
  • Sheena Steward and Anthony Hutchinson (Love At Any Stage), whose styles are vintage chic and classic with an urban twist.
  • Payton Taylor (Music City Pretty), a musician and radio fashion program host who wears thrifted styles while performing.

The first two Style with a Purpose events, held earlier this year at Goodwill’s East Nashville and Charlotte Ave. stores, drew hundreds of guests.

Goodwill anticipates even greater interest and attendance at the October event in Bellevue. An RSVP on Goodwill’s website is requested but not required to attend.
