With the success of Lil Nas and Billy Ray Cyrus’ “Old Town Road,” there’s a new country dance song that’s trending – Blanco Brown’s “The Git Up.” The video has been viewed over 150 million times.

It’s also bringing back the country line dance with fans doing the “The Git Up” challenge posting their own videos on social media.

Brown shared in a release, “It’s been unbelievable to see how quickly and organically ‘The Git Up’ has exploded around the world! What an incredible blessing.”

“Seeing everybody make videos of themselves doing ‘The Git Up’ has been such a trip—keep ‘em coming! I’ve been watching as many as I can and love seeing how much joy this song brings to you all! Hopefully, it continues to put smiles on people’s faces, because that’s what it’s all about!”

What is “The Git Up?”  It consists of four moves – cowboy boogie, hoedown ending with a balance on the heels, butterfly, and the two-step-  all while holding a drink in your hand. For those who want to post their own video and need a tutorial, Brown posted one here.

Last week, Brown performed at the Official Dee Jay Silver After Party following the CMT Music Awards, the Firestone Country Roads stage at Ascend Amphitheater, the Nashville Acoustic Corner stage, the Radio Disney Country stage and the Spotify House at Ole Red in addition to hosting a #GitUpChallenge at the Wildhorse Saloon for fans.
