A big fourth quarter ended Battle Ground Academy’s losing streak Friday.
The Wildcats (5-2) went into Friday riding back-to-back losses and through three quarters it appeared they were heading towards a third in a row. However, they came back and took down the Davidson Academy Bears 35-27 to get back into the win column.
Heading into the fourth quarter, Davidson Academy (3-3) held a 20-14 lead and had kept the Wildcats off the scoreboard since 4:32 left in the first quarter. That’s when BGA came alive offensively and on special teams.
The Wildcats scored three straight touchdowns, two on offense and one on a 68-yard punt return by Joseph Pasley.
Pasley was everywhere on the field for BGA. He finished with 237 all-purpose yards (98 receiving, 71 rushing and 68 return yards) and two total touchdowns. He also added six tackles on defense.
Quarterback Drew Martin completed 7-of-15 passes for 193 yards and three touchdowns.
The win gives the Wildcats some momentum heading into their matchup against Knox Webb (5-1) next week. The Spartans beat Donelson Christian 41-17 Friday.
