Battle Ground Academy Nick Semptimphelter threw for three touchdowns, as the Wildcats scored 24 first-quarter points and rolled to a 45-0 victory at Nashville Christian on Friday evening.
BGA’s junior quarterback was 15 of 20 passing for 206 yards and no interceptions. Wide receiver Tiy Reed led the Wildcats with six catches for 109 yards and scored two touchdowns.
The Wildcats out-gained Nashville Christian, 380-54.
Semptimphelter hit Reed with a 54-yard scoring pass just 46 seconds into the game, as the Wildcats (2-0) took a 7-0 lead after Jack Sauder’s point-after.
Sauder added a 32-yard field goal, then, Antonio Stevens added a 6-yard rushing score with 2:45 left in the first quarter.
A Semptimphelter-to-Chico Bennett touchdown pass covering 11 yards put BGA up with 25 seconds left in the quarter.
With 13 seconds in the half, Semptimphelter connected with Garnett Hollis for a 3-yard scoring toss, with BGA taking a 31-0 advantage into the locker room.
The Wildcats’ junior quarterback was 14 of 18 for 202 yards and three scores before the break. Reed also completed a 54-yard pass in the first half.
Reed added a 57-yard punt return score with 10:04 left in the third quarter. BGA’s Briston Bennett had a 13-yard rushing touchdown 44 seconds into the fourth quarter as well.
BGA travels to Goodpasture next week.
