Battle Ground Academy quarterback Drew Martin and his Wildcats had a big night in their season opener at Forrest.
Martin helped BGA with his arm and feet, as the Wildcats broke open a tight game in the second half for a 48-19 road win.
Martin hit Jack Jewell with a 35-yard second-half touchdown pass, giving the Wildcats a 41-19 lead with 3:37 to play.
Earlier in the half, Martin hit Kel Hawkins with a scoring strike.
Forest recovered a BGA fumble in the end zone, accounting for the game’s first points in the first quarter.
But Martin later scored on a keeper, putting the Wildcats up, 21-13, in the second half.
The Wildcats blocked Forest’s point-after on their previous score, accounting for the eight-point margin.
BGA tacked on 20 more points in the fourth quarter.
The Wildcats host Nashville Christian in their home opener next week.
