BGA Seniors Sign National Letters of Intent

BGA James Morrison and Gracie Bailey Sign Letters of Intent

Two additional Battle Ground Academy student-athletes signed National Letters of Intent in a ceremony held at the school on April 24. They join 10 other graduating seniors who will be continuing their athletic careers in college.

They are:

Gracie Bailey – Volleyball – Loyola University New Orleans – Bailey was a four-year starter and 2018 team captain. She was named to the All-District Team in 2017 and 2018 and was on the 2018 All-Region Team. She has 1,140 career assists and led BGA in both assists and kills in 2018.

James Morrison – Track and Field – Centre College – Morrison was a four-year letterman in track and field. He participated in a variety of events during his career. He finished sixth in the state in the triple jump and was also a member of the 4 X 100-meter relay team that holds the school record of 43.35 seconds.

In November, six BGA students signed National Letters of Intent including Chico Bennett, Jr. (Football, Georgia Tech), Jaylen Frierson (Football, ETSU), Kyah Keller (Softball, Clemson), Kenny Rawls (Football, North Alabama), Tiy Reed (Football, Georgetown) and Taylor Tigue (Volleyball, Walters State). In April, four students signed including Evan Gaunt (Football, Sewanee: The University of the South), Teddy Holloway (Baseball/Football, Centre College), Russ Nicoll (Football, Centre College) and Carter Trapeni (Baseball, Sewanee).
