Battle Ground Academy senior Christina Conrady has received a Silver Medal in the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards from the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers. Her painting, titled 1966, captured the National Medal.
Nearly 340,000 works of art and writing were submitted to the 2019 Scholastic Awards. Conrady’s work was selected by some of the foremost leaders in visual arts for excellence in originality, technical skill and the emergence of a personal voice or vision. Receiving a medal means that she was within the top 1% of all submissions.
