BGA Hopes to Regain Momentum Against Zion Christian

The Battle Ground Academy Wildcats will travel back to Columbia on Friday to take on the Zion Christian Academy Eagles. Coming off their hardest game of the season against Webb Knoxville that resulted in a 38-6 loss, BGA should be able to regain some momentum against the much lower ranked Eagles this week.

In the last two weeks, BGA played their first division games and came out with a 1-1 record. In their first divisional matchup against Davidson Academy, the Wildcats scored six touchdowns for a 41-0 final score. Against Webb, however, they only scored six total points. BGA proved against Davidson that they have a strong offense; six different receivers caught passes during the game for a total of 135 yards through the air. To find success in the rest of the season and in the playoffs, BGA needs to find a way to maintain the high level of offensive play they are capable of against bigger, stronger defenses.

Zion Christian will enter Friday’s game with a 2-5 record. They won last week against Scotts Hill, so they will be hoping to carry that momentum into Friday’s game to set themselves up for success  in the post-season.

Cole Grosvenor will likely continue as starting quarterback on Friday since he has been successful at the position so far. He should be able to lead the team to another sizable win against the Eagles on Friday as the team begins to look forward to post-season play.

Kickoff is at 7 PM at Zion Christian Academy in Columbia.
