Spring Hill is going back to its past to help the future of their football program as they have hired former Raider Ben Martin as their new football coach.

Martin, played on the 1986 Spring Hill team that beat South Pittsburg for the Class A state title and graduated in 1988 has been an assistant coach on the Spring Hill staff the last three seasons.

He replaces Jay Emmons who resigned earlier in the month after leading the Raiders to a 13-12 overall record in two years and two 4A playoff appearances losing both years to Marshall County.

“I’m extremely honored and humbled by the opportunity to be the head coach at Spring Hill. I wouldn’t want to be any place else. I’m excited about the future of Spring Hill football while preserving the history of our storied program,” Martin said.
