Basketball: FRA Sweeps District Crowns

Franklin Road Academy needs to make room in their trophy cases as both the boys and girls basketball teams won the Division II-A East/Middle District titles last night.

The Panthers narrowly defeated rival Battle Ground Academy 74-69 in the battle between the top two seeds in the tournament.

FRA Upper School Dean Prentice Stabler posted his congratulations to the boys team on Twitter.

Both schools advance to the next round of the tournament with FRA earning a first round bye and BGA being forced to play.

Stabler congratulated the girls on their championship earlier in the day.

After a slow start, they rallied to edged tournament host University School of Nashville 42-39.

The BGA girls will also advance in the tournament thanks to a 55-29 win over St. Cecilia in the consolation round.
