Baseball Roundup: Summit Tosses Two Shutouts

The Summit Spartans tossed two shutouts Tuesday in high school baseball action in sweeping a doubleheader from Dickson County in impressive fashion.
The Spartans won the first game against the Cougars 6-0, and then finished off the doubleheader sweep by claiming a 10-0 victory in the second game of the twinbill.
In other action, Franklin and Ravenwood split a doubleheader with the Rebels edging the Raptors 11-10 in the opener. Ravenwood came back to claim the second game and earn the split with a 10-3 victory over Franklin.
Centennial and Brentwood also split two games, with the Cougars taking the opener 2-1, and the Bruins romping 11-0 in the second game.
Grace Christian’s bats were hot as the Lions hammered Santa Fe in a pair of games. Grace Christian on the first game 13-1 and posted a 14-4 win in the nightcap.
Christ Presbyterian Academy rolled past Marshall County, 11-3, on Tuesday, and Independence edged Columbia 5-3.
BGA dropped a doubleheader to Davidson Academy, 2-1 and 4-1.
