Baseball Roundup: Summit Rallies Past Ravenwood

Summit rallied for three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to edge Ravenwood, 3-2, Tuesday in the District 11-AAA baseball tournament.

Kyle Sumner delivered a two-out single to plate Nick Johnson with the winning run as the Spartans stayed in the winners bracket of the tournament.

Ravenwood, which got a stellar pitching performance from Carter Sells, who allowed three hits in 6 2/3 innings for the Raptors, now plays Independence in the losers bracket final today.

The Eagles ousted Centennial with a 7-5 victory.

The winner of today’s Independence-Ravenwood game will then Summit in the championship game at 7 p.m.
In other baseball action, Christ Presbyterian Academy avenged an earlier loss to Page in the District 12-AA tournament by beating the Patriots twice on Tuesday. The Lions won the first game 7-2 and took the losers bracket final, 3-0., setting up a championship game tonight against Spring Hill.

Spring Hill romped over Cascade, 15-2, to reach the title game.

In Division II, Brentwood Academy stepped across the state line and defeated Franklin-Simpson, Ky., 2-0, while BGA edged Mt. Juliet Christian, 4-2.
