Baseball roundup: Franklin downs Centennial, 7-4

Franklin High downed rival Centennial, 7-4, Thursday afternoon in District 11-AAA action as the Rebels won the decisive game of a three-game set against the Cougars.

In the three-game series, the Rebels won the season opener at Centennial on Monday, then lost to the Cougars at home on Wednesday before winning the rubber game of the series on Thursday.

In other Williamson County baseball action from Thursday, Pope John Paul II completed its sweep of Brentwood Academy, edging the Eagles 5-4.

Ravenwood finished off its three-game series against Dickson County, edging the Cougars, 6-5, on Thursday to complete a three-game series sweep. The Raptors’ bats were hot in all three game, as they outscored Dickson County by a combined score of 26-8 in the three games.

Also, Independence finished up its three-game set with Brentwood High, winning with a 2-0 shutout on Thursday to win the series, two games to one over the Bruins.

The Summit Spartans knocked off the Nolensville Knights, 9-3.

In Division II play, Battle Ground Academy toppled University School of Nashville, 13-6, on Thursday.
