Baseball Roundup: CPA Claims District 12-AA Tourney

Christ Presbyterian Academy got a shutout performance from Carson Houk as the Lions battled back through the losers bracket to claim the District 12-A championship with a 3-0 win over Spring Hill.

The victory makes the Lions the top seed and a host of a Region 6-AA game next week, while the Raiders, who are 33-3 – with two of those losses coming against CPA – will take to the road in region play to face the winner of District 11-AA.

CPA scored all its runs in the first inning and Houk made the support stand up in helping the Lions improve their record to 26-8.

In other action involving Williamson County teams, Summit thumped Independence, 12-0, to claim th tournament championship in District 1-AAA.
Brandon Johns and Chris McElvain had two hits apiece to lead the Spartans to the lopsided win.
Earlier in the day, Independence slipped past Ravenwood, 8-6.
