Baseball Roundup: Brentwood Academy Rolls in Gulf Coast Classic

A number of area baseball teams competed in the Gulf Coast Classic in Alabama on Monday in Gulf Shores.

Several Middle Tennessee area schools headed south for spring break not just for some fun in the sun, but for some baseball action as well.

Brentwood Academy rolled to a 14-2 victory over DeQueen, Ark., in tournament action on Monday.

The Brentwood High Bruins also found a win near the beach, besting Boaz, Ala., 11-5.

Summit High School split a pair of games in the tournament, routing Valley View, Ark., 9-1, but falling just short against Farmington, Ark., 9-8.

Christ Presbyterian Academy played in the IMG National Classic and dropped a 13-3 decision to Canterbury, Fla.

In other non tournament action, Columbia Academy downed Grace Christian, 7-1, while Fairview shut out Wayne County, 2-0.

Nolensville came up short against Cascade, falling, 5-4, while Spring Hill dropped Lewis County, 6-1.
