Attend the Blood:Water Mission Red Tie Gala

Clean water is often something we take for granted. Back in 2004, band Jars of Clay and activist Jena Lee Nardella, launched Blood:Water Mission as a way to end the fight in Africa for the HIV/Aids crisis and help to provide clean water.

Blood:Water has raised over $27 million through the creative efforts of tens of thousands of individuals seeking to make a difference. They believe that Africa holds the leadership, creativity, passion and resolve necessary to address the HIV/AIDS and water crises. That’s why they’ve spent the past ten years working alongside more than a dozen African organizations to bring clean water and HIV/AIDS support to 1 million people in 11 countries.

In an effort to support their mission, Blood:Water is holding their annual red tie gala at the Country Music Hall of Fame on December 3, 2015.  Attendees will enjoy a musical performance by Emmy Lou Harris, a twelve time grammy award winner, along with special honoree for the evening, Ambassador at Large, Deborah L. Birx, MD,coordinator to the US government to combat HIV/Aids as well as US Special Representative for Global Health Diplomacy.

The 2015 Red Tie Gala is the fourth annual event where local, regional, and national supporters of the international fight against HIV/AIDS will come together to reflect on the good work that has been done in support of this cause. Last year, we recognized the leadership of Mark Dybul, executive director of The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, and Dr. Sten Vermund, director of Vanderbilt Institute of Global Health.

Proceeds from the evening will enable Blood:Water to continue working alongside our partners in Isiolo, Kenya, to enhance the Tumaini health care facilities, improve integrated community health delivery systems, and advance the capacity building of our local partner. This will provide quality comprehensive HIV service to more than 10,000 people in the area.

Fourth annual Red Tie Gala begins at 6:30 with a reception with the program beginning at 7pm at the Country Music Hall of Fame located at 222 5th Avenue South, Nashville. Tickets are $150 per person, purchase your tickets online at Blood:Water mission.
